User Reviews about Avatar
For $20.00, Avatar is a fun game. The graphics are good. I play with mouse/keyboard and the controls are smooth. If you're a fan of the film you will enjoy lots of Pandora/Polyphemus/Alpha Centari info. Registration is required upon install so don't buy a used copy. The disc does not need to be in the drive to play. The Tages DRM is noted on the back of the box. It doesn't say how many installs you get (other reviewers say 3).
The game starts out with you as an RDA (human) soldier, Runnning errands through the jungle, fighting viperwolves with a variety of weapons. You also get to use buggies and boats. After a while you switch to a Navi character who moves through the landscape with greater ease than the human. After playing the early stages of the game I highly recommend it. -- Good game
wow
this game was fun.
part of the reason why I enjoyed it so much was the freedome the game gives you. for example, the bulk of the campain is spent doing quests. (examples would be assist the southern troops, repair the chopper, locate onobtanium shard deposits etc.) when you are assigned the quest, you are given absolute freedom as to how to complete it, you can scrap the quest and explore, use vehicles of your choice take the route of your choice, and fight enemies with the weapons of your choosing.
online multiplayer was fun, but not too many players so sometimes you can't really play.
na'vivcampain was fun too, but not AS fun
I don't know what those other people were talking about with DRM because there isn't really any.
pandorapedia is cool for when you get bored on a rainy day (it is mostly for diehard avatar fans like me) no really i am a diehard fan. i can have a conversation in the na'vi languave to some extent. my na'vi name is Kaachaal'tuxx
that's how much of a fan i am.
there is a "choice" in the campain, which is that early on you have to chose who to side with, which gives you an excuse to play through twice.
all in all I love it a great buy, and for $30? get it. you will nor regret it. (that's quite catchy, I should use that) -- WOOOOOOOO HOO HOOO!!!
The game play is pretty repetitive. I'm about half way through and the game keeps crashing. A friend of mine is having the same problem. If I can figure out why it crashes I'll finish the game, if not I don't think I'm missing much. -- Meh, Rather have my $50
