I've watched the gameshow on tv occasionally, and I like trivia games. The format of this game follows the TV version, some aspects which (for an adult) are a little annoying, but overall I like the game. But I'll keep looking for a good dedicated trivia game. -- IT IS BASICALLY A TRIVIA GAME
My husband and my son love this game they play it all the time. They are the reason I bought it. I can't play it due to the fact that the game is too fast. I do watch them play it as well as my brother. I will be making future purchases of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader. I bought this game for my niece for Christmas. She says she is enjoying it. She is 12. I love Amazon.com. I ordered it and had it sent to her address. I purchased enough merchandise at Christmas to qualify for free shipping. The gift arrived in plenty of time for wrapping and putting under the tree. I loved the convenience of Amazon.com shopping and other reviews of this game were helpful to me in purchasing this game for my niece. -- Pre Teen loved the Gift
We played this game 2 and 4 player on the different battle modes so my comments will mostly be about that.
In general, my biggest gripe with this game is how difficult it is to read the questions. The font is strange and even on a large tv (46") it is difficult to read the questions and answer choices. This wouldn't be a problem execpt that a lot of the games have to do with how fast you can answer, and it's hard to be fast when you're having trouble reading the screen... I can't imagine playing this game on a smaller tv.
Otherwise the gameplay was OK. Even on our first use some of the questions would repeat from game to game which we found kind of cheap. They probably should have added more questions or come up with a better way to make sure the same ones won't come up so close together.
Overall we did have fun playing it and it met my expectations for this type of game. -- Fun multiplayer game
